A Warm Thank You!

Thank you, Cella, for encouraging me to get up and share my faith and testimony through your Living Acting Bible Workshop.  It was not easy to act out the day I found out about the sudden death of my mother.  In just words it’s hard to put across the trauma of it but when I acted it out I think it was more impactful!  Once I got started, it seemed to flow out. It’s amazing how the Holy Spirit can move in.  It was a little scary, but I’m glad I had a chance to let the other ladies know more about me.  I hope it built up their faith.
Thank you, again, Cella, for bringing your unique skills into this ministry.

From the Road to the Table

The women’s group of Epicentre Church (housed at the US Center for World Missions in Pasadena, California) interacted well with the D.E.P.T.H. Ministries Workshop on ‘The Table’, which I provided for them on November 6, 2014. Throughout the bible are unexpected references to the table, its sanctity and importance; the Road to Emmaus being one of them. Three women stepped up to dramatize Luke 24:13-32. They made us laugh and enjoy a brighter understanding of the need to invite Jesus Christ to our tables at home each day! This was followed by an exhortation to encourage with our words. A tool was provided to practice this, teaching how to use scripture on your children’s level, to encourage their hearts and thoughts.  I ended with a few words focused on our need for rest as a lifestyle habit.  I’ll rest here.  But you can click on Ministry/Hospitality for books and bible references on ‘the table’.  Be enriched!

Luke 24:30-31 shows Cleopas and his companion recognizing Jesus when He broke bread with them at their table. Is not the table a sacred place when we welcome Christ there?

Flawless Focus: The Shunnamite Woman

Want to learn about a life focused on God?  The Shunnamite Woman is a flawless model that inspires such a life in us! In II Kings 4:8-36, her life actions from providing selfless hospitality for the prophet, Elisha,  to living out his prophesy that she would have a son, to pursuing him to successful restoration of her son after he has died (without telling husband or servants that he is dead), she never loses sight of God as the center of her life.  She serves, believes, and expresses her fears, as we humans do, but without her life ever losing it’s intentional pursuit of God in all her choices.  Read it and be uplifted, encouraged and ready to find the focus that finds fulfillment in God!

Rejection to Restoration

Women of Hope Del Rey Bible Study enact the bible story: Mark: 5:21-35. Do you recognize it?

Reaching out with faith in Christ against all odds rewarded the ‘woman with the issue of blood’ in Mark 5:21-35.  She had nothing to lose as she’d been rejected by society and had spent all she had to get well.  Ill and pressing desperately through a crowd that could easily have represented the social rejection she’d endured for so long, she humbly believed that Christ could and would heal her if she could just reach…touch the hem of His garment.  Though the crowd was bearing down, He noticed that someone had deliberately touched Him as power had gone out of Him.  Did He not know the whole story of her travail?  Why did He call her to account?  ‘Who touched me?’, He said.  He insisted that she be revealed as the new, healed person that she was. Her confession of what had happened to her and Who she believed restored her!
Who are you in Christ, my friend?  Who are you?

Acting for God’s Good Purpose

1 Monday, April 7, 2014. 9:30 am. Quiet excitement and nerves are rippling through me as I enter Hope Del Rey Church. Bonnie and Harriet are setting up for the women’s bible study they lead where I’ll be giving a new version of the LAB (Living, Acting Bible) Workshop. This workshop will encourage each woman to answer questions in relation to a scripture. Their answers will be morphed by my directing into an act about a transformed area of their lives. Will it ‘work’?
Nine women arrive. The acts come to life in novel, moving or delightful ways! Shy ones surprise themselves, emotions surface unexpectedly, applause is supportive and loving. Reflection time follows. We are enriched by the sharing. Phillipians 2:13 comes to life: “For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose!”

His Banner Over Me is Love!

The fourth weekend in February, I was encouraged as I attended a conference in Visalia, CA called ‘Holy Fire’. It was wonderful, teaching the use of banners and billows to worship! I found it exceptional, truly Christ centered, professional, artistic; richly satisfying and learner friendly for all levels. Clear details would be at the instructor’s, Lynn Hayden, sight: dancingforhim.com. Very refreshing and inspiring! Be uplifted and move for the Lord!
